Arnulfo D. Trejo (1922-2002) was a Mexican-American professional librarian. His work as a university professor in the fields of librarianship and library science are fully recognized in the United States, but not in Ibero-America. Indeed, the teaching of this university librarian in the field of librarianship in general and Latin librarianship in particular, projects aspirations, ideas and practices with a founding, innovative and reformist vision. This teacher's interest in library education in Mexico is analyzed through his master's thesis presented at Kent State University. Unknown academic writing in our country. By contrast, the work of this professor emeritus of the University of Arizona is valued as distinguished in the framework of librarianship teaching, especially in the teaching work of library science, dedicated to training librarians to serve different social minorities, such as people of Hispanic, Latino, and Chicano origin in the U.S. context. Likewise, the book that was published in his honor on the occasion of his retirement as a professor at the University of Arizona is mentioned. The influence of the Trejo Foster Foundation for Hispanic Library Education, an organization he founded with the aim of sponsoring educational programs with the intention of meeting the needs of communities of Hispanic heritage, is also discussed.
